1About these terms

These terms apply when you enquire about or take online lessons with Edunest. Before lessons begin, each adult learner, or the parent or guardian of a learner under 18, receives a lesson agreement with the details of the lessons. The terms and the lesson agreement are read together.

2Who we are

Edunest is an online tutoring brand serving learners of every age in Qatar. You can reach us through the routes below. Registration details of the business that provides the service are given on request.

3The service

• Edunest arranges one-to-one lessons that take place online, on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. Every lesson is held on the video platform agreed with you.
• Tutors teach from wherever they are based, which may be outside Qatar.
• Lessons cover the curricula and courses described on this website: international curricula, the Qatari national curriculum and courses for adults.
• Service descriptions and prices are given in Arabic and English. The lesson agreement states the subjects, the lesson length, the price and what the price includes before you commit to anything.

4Enquiries and matching

Sending an enquiry places you under no obligation. We use it to suggest a tutor whose curriculum, exam board, level and language fit the learner. If a match does not suit the learner, tell us and we look for another tutor.

5Scheduling, cancellation and missed lessons

Lesson times, rescheduling, cancellation by either side, lessons lost to technical problems and refunds for unused lessons are set out in the lesson agreement you receive. All lesson times are given in Qatar time (Asia/Qatar, UTC+3).

6Prices and payment

Prices are stated in Qatari riyals (QAR) in the lesson agreement, in Arabic and English, before you pay anything. The agreement says whether any tax is included and how payment is made. You receive a dated invoice for each payment.

7No guarantee of results

Tutors prepare every lesson with care and work towards targets agreed with you. Progress depends on many things, including practice between lessons, attendance and the learner’s circumstances. Edunest therefore makes no promise of particular marks, grades, exam results or admission to a school or university.

8Your rights as a consumer

Consumer Protection Law No. 8 of 2008 gives you these rights:

Clear information

Correct and clear information about the service, its features and its price, in Arabic, with other languages alongside.

An invoice

A dated invoice for what you pay.

A guaranteed service

A guarantee suited to the nature of the service: a lesson that falls short of what was agreed is given again or refunded.

Respect

Respect for religious values, customs and traditions.

Decree-Law No. 16 of 2010 on Electronic Commerce and Transactions adds two more:

Rescission within three days

Under Article 57, you may rescind the contract within three days if the service has not yet been fully provided and you have received no benefit from it. The lesson agreement keeps this right intact.

Ending the contract after a delay

Under Article 58, you may end the contract and receive a refund if the service is delayed by more than 30 days.

Edunest applies these rights to every adult learner in Qatar, and to every parent or guardian who arranges lessons for a learner under 18. Nothing in these terms or in a lesson agreement limits the rights you have under Qatari law.

9Learners under 18 and safeguarding

For a learner under 18, a parent or legal guardian makes the enquiry, accepts the lesson agreement and remains responsible for the arrangement.

• A parent may attend any lesson.
• Children take lessons in a shared room at home.
• Tutors contact learners only through the lesson platform and the channels agreed with the parent or guardian.
• A lesson is recorded only when the parent and the tutor have both agreed beforehand.

10Conduct in lessons

Everyone in a lesson treats the others with respect. Lesson links are for the learner and the family only. We may end an arrangement where a tutor, a learner or a family member behaves in a way that puts others at risk or makes teaching impossible, and we explain why.

11Devices, platforms and connection

You provide a suitable device, a camera and microphone, and an internet connection. Video platforms have their own terms and privacy notices, which apply when you use them. WhatsApp calls are often unreliable in Qatar, so every lesson runs on one of the video platforms named in these terms.

12Lesson materials and the names we use

Notes and materials a tutor shares are for the learner’s own study. Curriculum and exam names such as Cambridge IGCSE, A Level, the International Baccalaureate, CBSE, SAT and IELTS describe what we teach and belong to their owners. Edunest is independent of these organisations and of the schools learners attend.

13Personal data

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

14Complaints

Complaints can be made in Arabic or English. The route is set out below in both languages.

15Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version and its date are always on this page. A change does not alter a lesson agreement you have already accepted unless you agree to it.

16Language

These terms are published in Arabic and English, and both versions carry the same meaning.

17Governing law and disputes

The law that governs these terms, and the courts or other forum that hear disputes, will be confirmed after legal review. Whatever is chosen, the consumer rights described in these terms apply.
