About Edunest
Edunest arranges one-to-one online lessons for school pupils, university students and working adults living in Qatar. We match each learner with a tutor who knows their curriculum, exam board or goal, and we share progress from the first lesson onwards, with a parent too when the learner is young.
Edunest is an online tutoring service for learners in Qatar, from young pupils to university students and working adults. The learner, or a parent when the learner is young, tells us about the curriculum or course and the goal. We choose a tutor who teaches it, arrange lessons on a video platform that works in Qatar, and send progress notes so everyone involved can follow the work.
The name comes from the nest, the safe place where the young learn until they are ready to fly. We aim to give every learner that kind of steady, patient support, whether they are a Year 3 pupil learning to read in English or a professional preparing for IELTS.
Our tutors
Every tutor who teaches through Edunest meets five standards before they meet a learner.
A tutor teaches the curricula and exam boards they know well, such as the Cambridge IGCSE papers, the IB Internal Assessment or the Qatari Grade 12 syllabus. We check that knowledge before we match them with a learner.
We look for tutors who have already taught learners at the level in question, in a classroom or one to one, and who can explain the same idea in more than one way.
Tutors teach in the language the learner chooses. They speak and write it fluently, so explanations are clear and feedback is easy to follow.
Each tutor teaches a trial lesson that we review against a written standard: clear explanation, regular checks for understanding, a pace that suits the learner, and a short summary at the end.
Tutors who teach children agree to our safeguarding rules before their first lesson. A parent may join any lesson, lessons take place in a shared room at home, and all contact runs through the arrangement agreed with the parent.
What to expect
We match the learner with a tutor by curriculum or course, exam board, year group or level, subject and language, and by the times that suit you. If the match does not feel right, tell us and we look again.
The tutor sends regular progress notes: what was covered, what went well and what to practise next. The learner, and a parent when the learner is young, sees the same picture the tutor sees.
For a younger learner, a parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson, for a few minutes or all of it, and to speak with the tutor at the end.
Before lessons begin, each adult learner, or the parent of a younger learner, receives a lesson agreement that sets out the service, the price, scheduling and cancellation, in Arabic and English.
